Okay But First Can I Say Congratulations!!

I'm so excited for you guys! Congratulations on the little one and I'm so honored that you're considering me to capture this moment! Love stories are my absolute favorite to tell and the love between parents and their baby is just so precious (even before they're born!). Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, and one way to cherish this special time is through a maternity session. Here are some tips to help you prepare for a memorable and heartwarming session!

Must-haves for your session:

  • Baby clothes - if you have a onesie or baby shoes definitely bring those because that little detail with the belly bump is just adorable!
  • Sonogram - similarly to the baby clothes, that's basically one of their first photos so it's super cute to include.
  • Signs - if there is something you plan to put in their nursery with their name on it or something special someone made for baby, lets show it off!
  • Accessories - if you aren't wanting to do a full outfit change, bring a jacket or hat (etc.) that can act like a prop and give you a bit more variety.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Choose the Right Time: Selecting the right time for your maternity photo session is crucial. Many photographers recommend scheduling sessions between the 28th and 32nd weeks, I always say when it feels right for you and ideally when your bump gets to be the main star. I also ideally schedule sessions right after sunrise or right before sunset so whichever time of day you'll be most comfortable will work perfectly!
  • Find the Perfect Photographer: Research and choose a photographer with experience in maternity photography. Look through portfolios, read reviews, and select someone who can capture the essence of your unique journey. I would love to be that photographer, but I know we all have different styles and we all want you to love your photos!
  • Wardrobe Choices: Selecting the right outfits is key to stunning maternity photos. Flowing dresses, form-fitting outfits that showcase your baby bump, and simple, solid colors often work well. You are more than welcome to bring a variety of outfits to the session, and I always recommend including accessories like scarves or hats, to add variety to your photos.
  • Include Your Partner and Siblings: Have your partner and any older siblings in the photo session. Family shots can beautifully capture the anticipation and excitement surrounding the arrival of your little one. If they are in town, try to include grandparents too cause I bet they are just as excited for the little one!
  • Relax and Embrace the Moment: At your session, take a moment to relax and embrace the joy of your little one. I'll help pose and guide you through the session!

A maternity photo session is a unique and beautiful way to celebrate the journey into motherhood. I can't wait to help you celebrate the new little one in your life!
